The Sheriff is back in
town

This year’s Super Bowl 50 was meant
to be an extravagant event with half time performers Coldplay, Beyoncé and
Bruno Mars teaming up to commemorate 50 years of football championships, but
beyond the acts what really mattered were the teams facing each other.

           Undefeated NFC champions with the
best offensive team in the NFL and new comers to the Super Bowl, the Carolina
Panthers, were geared up and ready to face the AFC Champions with the best
defensive team in the NFL and returning to the Super Bowl field, the Denver
Broncos. Before the game even started many fans predicted that the Panthers
would demolish the Broncos by their NFC season standing alone, but they were
wrong.

           Peyton Manning, one-time Super Bowl
champ and five-time league MVP, was ready to get his second and maybe final
ring for his career. Although it was the power of the defensive team that helped
to secure the Bronco’s win, it was Manning’s cunning and encouragement that
kept the team afloat. Through every quarter the team kept a steady pace and
kept Carolina quarterback, Cam Newton, from allowing the offense to move any
further than they wanted.

With a stunning 24-10 win in the
Bronco’s favour Manning was humble throughout the celebration telling reporters
he wanted to kiss his wife and kids, see his family and drink some Budweiser. Will
this be his last season in the NFL? Seems Manning hasn’t decided yet, but what
is certain is that the Carolina Panthers will return to the Super Bowl field
and maybe next time, they’ll win.
