Omega Group Hosts The Black & Red Soiree at The Carlu
On Saturday March 10th, Toronto was the city to be in. The CN Tower was lit up in the colours of black and red for 30 minutes in honour of the recently formed Omega Group and their latest exclusive soiree. The SKYY Vodka sponsored Black & Red Soiree had a guest list that was bursting with Toronto’s young professionals, public figures and celebrities with a red carpet and professional chaperones awaiting them upon arrival.
The Omega Group was launched this past summer and kicked off with an inaugural event held at Toronto landmark, The Carlu, alongside several others including at Abode and Burroughs Buildings since. With New York, London and Paris being the inspirations, Omega Group is bringing events of the same calibre and ambience as those hosted in the latter cities to Toronto, one soiree at a time.
Massoud Abbasi, Bay St. Financier and Entrepreneur, is the founder of Omega Group. As he puts it, the value offering of Omega Group is quite simply “to facilitate the convergence of Toronto’s finest professionals, movers and shakers and those with influence or power in classy and diverse settings”. Abbasi goes further and states that, “Toronto’s time has come to become a truly global world class city and if we are to achieve this status, our events, entertainment and nightlife have to become more sophisticated, classy, elegant, unique, exclusive and socially effective.”
Black & Red was the latest installment in this series and movement that has swept through Toronto with a palpable stealth and swiftness that has caught a lot of Torontonian’s attention and piqued their interest. The red carpet affair started at 9pm and ended around 3am with over 500 guests. The guests were welcomed downstairs for check-in then escorted to the elevators and taken up to the 7th floor. The grand foyer had a lounge environment with several leather couches, while the circle room was more of a party atmosphere with well known DJ Vinny Gruvhunter and Roger James. A live Saxophonist, violinist and bassist joined the night to serenade the guests throughout both rooms. At 12am a special tribute to Amy Winehouse and Whitney Houston began in honour of International Women’s Day performed by a Toronto based artist, Samantha Cammisuli.
Omega Group will continue moving forward with their next soiree planned for a secret location near the Distillery District on June 15th. Abbasi assures us, “The attention to quality, focus on Toronto and exclusivity and class has piqued an interest in this city and touched a nerve point for more of these events and gatherings. We are now being approached by a variety of brands and individuals who wish to pair up with us as sponsors and we have several high-end events and charity functions planned for this summer as well as a large soiree during TIFF. We are permanently and singularly dedicated to Toronto and to taking this great city to new heights and its people along with it.” Having attended the soiree and having spoken to Massoud, we’ll take his word for it!
