Fun ways to break a sweat

With summer fast approaching us the pressure to feel your
best on at the beach is setting in. However if you’re like some of us in the
office, going to the gym may not be your forte! So why not take a different approach?
Here are some fun ways you can break a sweat while having a ton of fun.

Pursuit OCR

Located north of Dufferin and Queen Pursuit OCR brings recess back with their indoor
playground. Upgrading the average playground, their facility has monkey bars,
rope climbing and an adult size ball pit. Why not relive your childhood while
breaking a sweat?

Surfset Toronto

Surfset Toronto
brings surfing to the city by giving you a full body work out by using real
surfing techniques. Their indoor studio located near Yonge and Eglinton offers
a variety of classes that focus on different areas of the body.

Toronto School for
Circus Arts

Circus Arts gives
you the opportunity to push yourself into doing something different. Located in
Downsview Park, the facility offers flying trapeze classes and drop-ins ranging
in difficulties that will have you one step close to the big top.

Archery District

Archery District
gives you the chance to have your inner Hawkeye come out in a game of archery
tag. Similar to dodge ball, archery tag has players face-off against each other
to tag each other out by hitting each other with their arrows. Don’t worry this
is a no pain game; arrows are foamed tipped allowing for you to safely enjoy
the game!

Bubble Soccer

Bubble Soccer is soccer but puts
players into a huge bubble only leaving their legs exposed to kick the ball.
Although this addition to a traditional game makes it more difficult to win, it
also results to some hilarious moments with friends.

Today we’re sharing with you some of our favourite dessert places in the city. You’re welcome!

Sweet Jesus

you’re around John St. and Adelaide St. W and you see a line up leading out to
the street, it’s probably because of Sweet

their doors. Sweet Jesus takes soft served to another level, introducing
signature creations like the Krusty Cone, their twist of the traditional vanilla
cone with sprinkles but theirs has cotton candy! No matter what “pimped out
cone” you get from them you surely will be satisfied.

Eva’s Original Chimney’s

the Chimney Doughnut Cone. The doughnut cone has become one of the most popular

Ways to make this Mother’s Day special!

Mother’s Day is fast approaching and the panic to make your mom feel great on her special day is starting to set in! Don’t worry we got a few ideas to make this Mother’s Day celebration special!!

Breakfast in bed

The best way to start Mother’s Day is to treat your mom to breakfast in bed. Although this can be intimidating, sticking an easy recipe is a great way to make this experience less stressful for you. Here are three easy to make pancake recipes from The Domestic Geek. However if you are still hesitant don’t worry, because you can always treat your mom out, we personally love Mildred’s Temple.

Pampering goes a long way

Mother’s spend a lot of their time worrying about others and not themselves, so why not remind your mom that she needs to take time for herself too. Treating her to a manicure, pedicure or massage is an easy way to make her feel special!

Getting her car cleaned

While your mom is being pampered for the day, you can surprise her by getting her car thoroughly cleaned. Whether you do it professionally or yourself, your mom will surely appreciate you making her car as clean as she expects you to keep the house!

Enjoy the outdoors

Spring’s good weather makes it the perfect time for moms that enjoy hiking or exploring the outdoors! Humber River, Taylor Creek, High Park are a few places around the city that you and your mom can explore this weekend.

Join a class

Although Mother’s Day is great, it’s important to show your appreciation to your mom throughout the year. The best way to put aside time for you and your mom is to join a weekly or monthly class together. Whether it is a fitness, cooking or art class you and your mom create memories that will last a lifetime.

5 Tips to Watching a Raptors Game

Fresh off the heels of last night’s win, Toronto Raptors fans are excited about game 4. Here at VOCAB we are huge Raptors fans so we thought we’d share with you tips to make watching the game a better experience. The Raptors face off against the Indiana Pacers today at 3pm and with these 5 quick and easy tips you will be ready to cheer for Lowry in no time!

1. Surround yourself with like minded people

Watching basketball is fun on its own, with the best of the best pulling out all the stops to make their cities proud, but it can be even more fun. Watching the game with your friends and other fans will amp up your energy and make the experience better. One of the best places to watch the game is in Jurassic Park, otherwise known as Maple Leaf Square. Fans flock there every playoff game and although some there may not understand why you prefer Kyle Lowry over Demar DeRozan, or vice-versa; everyone can agree the Raptors are in it to win it!!

2. Show off your Raptors spirit

Similar to why you need to watch Raptors games with fellow fans, you need to show your raptors guide. You can’t feel the excitement of the game if you’re not covered in team spirit, right? Whether you are wearing your Jonas Valanciunas jersey, OVO Raptors gear or even dusting off your retro Vince Carter jersey you know everyone you see will appreciate it. Don’t worry if you don’t have any Raptors gear because wearing the red and black is great too!

3. Watch on a big screen…or many screens

As a Raptor fan it’s important that you’re catching every minute of the game and the best way to do that is to watch the game on the biggest screen possible. It is our duty as Raptor fans to be able to point out if the referees made a bad call, right? Having a big screen, or many screens, helps you point out any fouls the referee might have missed. It also eliminates anyone blocking your view. One of the best spots in the city for a ‘big screen’ or ‘many screen’ experience is The Real Sports Bar. Just get there early it may be crowded with fans like you!

4. Indulge a lot

Nothing says basketball than indulging in the best finger foods out there. Having a nachos and wings as an appetizer, main dish and dessert are the only ways to eat dinner while watching the game!

5. Plan ahead

Whether you are watching the game out at bar or in inviting friends to watch in the comfort of your home, it is very important to plan your night right. Organize designated drivers, a taxi or even have your family and friends sleepover. Make sure that you and your friends are able to safely have fun watching the game.
