Canadian multicultural film in four languages wins Best Narrative Award at Columbus International Film Festival

Canadian/Italian filmmaker Pasquale Marco Veltri has won the Chris Statuette for best Narrative Film at the Columbus International Film Festival for his film, Words to Remember.

 The Columbus International Film and Video Festival is now in its 62nd year, and is the longest running film festival in the United States. The Chris Award is the top award at the festival, and is proudly displayed in production offices around the world. The Chris Award, a reference to Christopher Columbus has also been a qualifying festival for the Academy Awards.

Veltri’s film “Words to Remember” examines the heart wrenching pearls of wisdom that would be passed down to us if our future selves were able to share their reflections and regrets with us in present time.

 Written and directed by Pasquale Marco Veltri, Words to Remember stars, Naimesh Nanavaty, Virginia O’Hara, Michael Mcleister, Jasmine Sawant and Candi Zell. Veltri’s film is a continuation of his overall theatrical theme of trajectory of reflection, self-identification and his overall passion to understand the human condition. With an original score by composer Vikas Kohli, the music draws inspiration from the multicultural aspects of the film and fuses a classical string quartet with a traditional Indian bowed instrument known as the Taus.  

The Chris Statuettes will be presented to Pasquale Marco Veltri at the 62nd Annual Awards Ceremony,Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the Columbus College of Art & Design.  An Evening of Shorts  Words to Remember screens At Brothers Drake Meadery, Tuesday, November 18 2014 at 8:00 p.m. (Brothers Drake Meadery 26 East 5th Avenue Columbus, OH). Pasquale Marco Veltri will be in attendance to receive his award.

The Calendar is inspired by the 2014 ESPN Magazine “Body Issue” and features some of the best athletes in Toronto including the cover star Elias Theodorou a.k.a The Spartan. His previous work includes acting, modelling, and previous work as a cover model (on a Harlequin Romance novel); he has now earned the top spot as the cover model for the HiM Promotions calendar for 2015. Theodorou has been incredibly successful as an MMA fighter with 10 wins and zero losses under his built, he owns the title of The UFC Ultimate Fighter winner, April 2014.

 To see the HiM Calendar brought to life there will be an event held at the Great Hall (1087 Queen Street W.) on November 12 for HiM: Coliseum, a live showcase showcasing the athleticism of the male form. Doors open at 8.00 p.m.

 In addition to the cover star, the HiM 2015 calendar will also feature handsome halfback Steve Piatek and winning wing Brett King from the Canada Wolverines Rugby Team, as well as other athletes in their perfect form.

 The HiM 2015 calendar is filled with stunning, artistic and tasteful photos of these athletes each paying homage to the sport that gave them their perfect bodies. The calendar will continue HiM Promotions’ tradition and be giving back to the community with a portion of the proceeds going towards ReThink breast cancer, and wanted to support the women they love and every woman that is battling this disease.
