Your Friday Funny: Terrible Real Estate Agent Photos

imageReal estate sales tip: If a potential buyer’s hesitating, offer to throw-in a new pet along with the new house. (Photo credit: Terriblerealestateagentphotos.com)

Looking for a good time-waster as you countdown the minutes to the weekend? Then check out Terriblerealestateagentphotos.com. It’s exactly what it sounds like: a collection of godawful eye-gougingly ugly and/or inexplicably weird photos that people seem to believe will actually help them sell their homes. You wouldn’t think it’d be so funny, but the combination of the photos together with the commentary make it work – it’s a monument to bad taste.

Despite the name, I think no real estate agents were involved (at least I hope) and the photos were posted by owners trying to sell houses on their own – I can’t believe any actual professional would allow these aesthetic atrocities to occur. If there’s any lesson to be learned here, it’s the simple one that if you’re not sure what you’re doing, hire a pro who does!

Talkin’ ‘Bout My Generation – What Millennials Want

Freud once famously asked in exasperation, “What does a woman want?” Even a genius like the founder of psychoanalysis couldn’t figure women out. Well, flash-forward a century, and replace “Freud” with “marketers” and “women” with “millennials”….

We hear in the media all the time about how difficult businesses find it to connect with millennials (not to mention, how difficult they supposedly are to manage in the workplace). However, a good-faith effort to actually sit-down and find out what your target wants never hurt anyone. On Oct. 8, TEN81 Lifestyle Inc. and the magazine Grocery Business did just that, bringing together three millennials with top retail and packaged-goods execs to discuss their shopping habits and how retail businesses can engage with their generation.

A full article recapping the discussion will be in December’s Grocery Issue and a series of videos featuring key insights and takeaways will be posted in the coming weeks, but for a taste of what’s to come, check out the trailer above.
